Proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells on three-dimensional scaffolds made by thermal sintering method

This article presents a thermal sintering method to fabricate porous bone tissue engineering scaffolds based on polycaprolactone (PCL), polylactic acid (PLA), and their composites. The mechanical properties, structure, biodegradability, biocompatibility of sintered were evaluated. showed porosity in the range 86–91% with pore size 75 m $$\mu$$ 400 . PCL/PLA composite Young’s modulus around 49 MPa, which was between values PCL (24 MPa) PLA (63 scaffolds. Fibroblast cells (SNL) exhibited spreading adhesion scaffolds, demonstrated significant difference osteogenic differentiation human mesenchymal stem (hMSCs) after 7 14 days culture comparison control (tissue polystyrene).
